Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers, eine Venture Capital Firma, die bis jetzt hat begrenztes Interesse an grüner Technologie gezeigt, investiert hat, $129.4 Millionen Amonix, einen neuen Schwerpunkt Photovoltaik Solar- Macht Unternehmen, das Erhalten eines 39 Prozent Umrechnungskurs mit ihren III-V-Multi-Junction-Technologie. Nach Angaben von Kleiner Perkins freigegeben, die Amonix konzentrieren Photovoltaik-Methode verwendet Kunststoff Fresnel-Linsen, die "sammeln Sonnenlicht und konzentrieren es auf 500 Zeiten seiner üblichen Intensität auf sehr kleine, hocheffiziente III-V Mehrfachsolarzellen Solarzellen. Als Ergebnis, [dieser Solarzellen] bieten die Solar- branchenweit höchste Wirkungsgrade."

Die Amonix System eigentlich nur erhält die 39 Prozent-Verhältnis auf ihre DC Solarzellen, Erreichen nur 23-25 Prozent Umstellung auf das AC-Geräten -- immer noch eine beeindruckende Geschwindigkeit im Vergleich zu aktuellen Solartechnik, die noch in der Bewertung Teenager für direkte Sonneneinstrahlung Umwandlung in Strom. Die kompakte Solarzellen verwendet Amonix ihre Einheiten viel kleiner als andere Systeme, die nach unten bringt die Kosten für die gesamte Produktlinie. Anscheinend ist der Technologie beeindruckt der "uber-VCs" bei Kleiner Perkins genug zu lockern ihre Geldbeutel und Vergabe Amonix den lukrativsten Vertrag VC noch für erneuerbare Energien.
