Wie erwartet, BP Board of Directors bekannt gegeben, dass die aktuellen BP-Chef Tony Hayward wäre Rücktritt Oktober 1, and would be replaced by Robert Dudley the American BP executive who is heading up the current Ölpest clean up efforts.
Die belagerten Hayward verteidigte die BP Sicherheitsstandard, da er Ruder übernahm in 2007, and defended his actions in response to the Ölpest disaster that began with the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig on April 20. Hayward and BP were asleep at the switch. All the companies mentioned were operating under the direction of BP. Sicher, all of them are in-part responsible but the Deepwater Horizon was BP's flagship and BP's job was to keep it afloat. Part of BP's job was to MAKE SURE the companies they contracted were doing as the were supposed to do. Hayward and BP failed to do their job.
Had Hayward been a real leader he would have fallen on his sword instead of waiting to get the axe.
