Environmental Stewardship Award Winners Announced for 2010
Ski boots made from castor oil, CD cases from paper, and paving bricks from tires are among the latest creations in the field of green chemistry being recognized at the 2010 Global Plastics Environmental Conference (GPEC). The companies responsible for these unique inventions, as well as a number of other green innovators, will receive one of the 2010 Environmental Stewardship Awards sponsored by the Plastics Environmental Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers. This year’s winners follow the conference theme “Sustainability and Recycling: Raising the Bar in Today’s Economy”. The awards will be handed out at GPEC on March 9 in Orlando, Florida.
If you're going, please let us know! We're looking for people with DSLR (or equivalent) cameras to send us pictures of the coolest products & people at the show. (And interviews also if you're up to the challenge.) Our CEO is always experimenting with ways to reduce our carbon and waste footprint. And we would like to avoid flying to conferences due to the massive carbon emissions emitted during airplane travel.
