30% Solar Tax Credit Expanded to Include Swimming Pool Heating

Until now, solar thermal water heaters used to warm up swimming pools have not been covered under the 30% solar tax credit.  This is pretty shocking considering that pool heating may comprise more than half the energy costs of a property, resulting in quite a high amount of carbon emissions.  Well property owners will be glad to learn that Senator Feinstein has extended the 30% solar tax credit which is set to expire in 2010, and expanded it to include solar thermal for commercial and community swimming pools, as well as manufacturing equipment needed to manufacture solar water heating systems.
