Lemnis Lighting's Pharox60 LED light bulb is now available online in the U.S. and will soon be for sale on Amazon. The dimmable LED light bulb, shaped like a traditional incandescent bulb, uses 90% less power than an incandescent.  It consumes 6 watts of power and can replace a 60-watt bulb.  It has a soft glow color with 330 lumen light output.

The dramatic drop in electricity use comes at the cost of $39.95. The premium can be recouped in three years, or as little as one year for consumers with time-of-day pricing tariffs, according to the company. The current price of the Pharox60 LED light bulb is a special offer; the bulb will cost $49.95 after the beginning of next year.

The Pharox60 LED light bulbs are estimated to last 25 years, significantly longer than compact fluorescent light bulbs, which use more electricity for similar level of lighting output. And unlike fluorescents, the Pharox60 LED light bulb can be recycled with metal and glass materials, according to the company.

Because there is concern that manufacturers will overstate the efficiency benefits or light output, the Department of Energy has set up a "Lighting Facts" Web site and label to guide consumers. Lighting Facts lists the Pharox LED light bulb among those that perform as claimed.

This bulb only puts out 336 lumens. a 60 watt bulb puts out 870 lumens. So dont see how they can clam this is a 60 watt bulb.

the 60 watt Sylvania LED Light Bulb puts out 810 lumens. that is a 60 watt bulb.

Good point. We'll be addressing this point in our upcoming review of the Pharox 300 (aka Pharox60) LED bulb. There really should be standards to help standardize the ratings of these LED bulbs.
