Alex Android Ebook Reader Debuts in June
Alex Android ebook reader also offers complete 3G internet access

Meet Alex, the new dual-screened Android ebook reader. Oops, can’t quite meet him yet, but he’ll be on the way to Borders and Books-A-Million Stores in April, and you can shake hands with him in the stores in June. Alex even has his own shop, expected to go live sometime in March, where you can place a pre-order for the new guy.
Spring Design, the creator of the new Alex Android ebook reader, is a partner with Google, developer of Android, so one would expect the Google stamp of approval, but at this point Alex is a Wi-Fi device. When the 3G version comes out – anticipated this summer – Google may then provide it with an official sanction.
The details on the 3G plans have not been released. In comparison with the Amazon Kindle, Alex will be an Android tablet with complete internet access, and it may require a more robust data plan than required for the Kindle. The Alex Android ebook reader will retail at a price of $399 and joins the growing ranks of new ebook devices available to buyers.
