Can Your Water Dispenser Make Water Out of Air? Dewpointe Can!

Did you know that we can turn air into water?  Of course you did.  It's known as condensation, and that's what creates rain.  Well, what would you say to a product that can turn air into drinking water?  Pretty revolutionary you say?  Well, according to Atmospheric Water Systems, the U.S. is once again lagging behind, since the Chinese have been turning air into water for some time now.

Atmospheric Water Systems is the manufacturer of a really neat product called DewPointe that makes water from air! The system has a series of filters to purify the water: an electrostatic filter removes 80-90% of the pollution in the air, and a series of Ultraviolet filters remove all the pathogenic microbes in the air. "It's the purest form of water that you can possibly use and drink," says Steve from Atmospheric Water Systems. "It's free of all kinds of pesticides, fertilizers, jet fuels, pharmaceuticals, and any other contamination that may be in the ground water supply."

And better yet, this machine is super simple.  You just plug it in, turn it on, let it run for a few hours, and voila - water from air!  So how much water can you expect these machines to produce?  Residential DewPointe machines produce between 3 and 8 gallons of water a day, and in climates that are more humid the machine may produce more water than it can actually hold! Commercial models can produce 50 to 150 gallons a day.  And the average cost of its water production is $.60 a gallon.

So if you haven't watched the video, you may be wondering what this machine looks like and whether you will be bringing a tractor into your house.  Well, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find out that DewPointe is also very well packaged aesthetically. This machine is pretty snazzy looking, relatively compact and really quiet, three things that are very important considering the rather prominent position this product will have in your kitchen.  And it comes in a few color options to match the other appliances in your kitchen.

Take a look at our video above. DewPointe may become the next revolution in water solutions.
