Climate Change - Scientist Believe In It, But Do You?
In study after study, scientists, especially those that study Earth's climate, agree that global warming exists and is a problem. However, those same studies found only about half of Americans hold the same views.
Why is there such a large gap in views? The scientists are the experts, so why are we not listening to them? There are many possible reasons, including confusing and conflicting information given to the public, religious views on evolution, and lack of hard evidence. There are also concerns about scientists being paid to keep facts to themselves and coal and oil companies spreading false information to protect their interests.
It's clear that the world's scientists have a lot more work to do before a clear majority of Americans agree with their message. And it isn't helping their cause that this winter it has been cold and rainy for most Americans. It just SOUNDS bad to have to explain that Global Warming is now causing snow and rain too...
