Coronado @ PCBC 2009

We want to thank Mel Bacon, president of Coronado, for his time with us. He started his business in his own garage in 1960; that is awesome! He shared with us an interesting fact that stone molds used to be 90 cents per foot in 1960, and today, that price has increased to 15 dollars per foot! His booth was very aesthetically pleasing, and it was made up of a variety of national stone products which Coronado duplicates with rubber modes. Our interview took place in the middle of the booth which took one whole day to make, so we were surrounded by stones! Mel also expressed his interest in incorporating glass into the Coronado's modes, an exciting new sustainable aspect entering the construction industry. After our interview with him, I actually found out from another associate at Coronado that Mel is the inventor or original practitioner of using stone molds which blew me away! Thank you Mel for this intriguing interview, and everyone should check out his company here.
