Eco Stucco - Breathe Easy in 216 Colors!



Tim from buildaroo.com interviewed Cyril, the owner of Eco Stucco. Cyril spoke about the chemical process used in the manufacturing of their stucco. Eco Stucco uses a lime binder, an eco-friendly alternative to other binders such as acrylic (which are used in other stucco products). Lime is a more eco-friendly binder because it take less energy to produce, and it gives off less carbon dioxide during the manufacturing process. While drying, the lime plaster releases H20, and during carbonization (the return to lime's original state as calcium carbonate) it absorbs CO2. As Cyril said, you "start with limestone material and end with limestone!"

The Eco Stucco comes in an amazing 216 colors! A natural fusion occurs during the curing process between the natural mineral pigments and lime plaster; a molecule is derived from this process giving the Eco Stucco tiles their color.
