EcoView Residential Energy Management System to Reduce Energy Bills by 20%
GE and Advanced Telemetry Collaborate on EcoView Residential Energy Management System
A groundbreaking residential energy management system - EcoView - will soon be available to help homeowners monitor and manage their energy and water consumption, due to a joint effort by GE and Advanced Telemetry. The EcoView Residential Energy Management System, is expected to help homeowners save money and reduce the size of their carbon footprint.
GE and Advanced Telemetry's residential energy management system takes only two hours to install and can be linked wirelessly to multiple devices in a house, including the thermostat and lighting systems. According to Advanced Telemetry CEO Gus Ezcurra, EcoView users cannot only control their energy usage, managing tasks like changing thermostats and turning off lights, but they can also monitor their current water usage and compare it to past water usage levels. Energy usage is broken down by device, so EcoView residential energy management system users can see which devices in their house are using the most energy.
GE and Advanced Telemetry have collaborated in the past on a similar product for commercial usage, but EcoView is the first residential energy management system that they have created. Ezcurra stated that GE and Telemetry's commercial energy management system helped some customers reduce their energy bills by 20-30%. GE and Advanced Telemetry hope that the EcoView residential energy management system will help homeowners achieve similar results, saving up to 20%.
