HybridCore Homes Creates Efficient, Green Partial Prefab Home Concept

HybridCore Homes launched an exciting new partial prefab home product for builders at the 2010 Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC). HybridCore Homes has developed a progressive and energy-efficient new building system in which the core unit of the home is built off site in a highly efficient, controlled, and streamlined environment that consumes less energy and generates less waste. The core unit is then dropped in place at the home site, and a local builder finishes the home.  The core is inspected during the building process by a third party approved by the state, to make sure the building is in compliance with local codes.  Check out our interview with HybridCore Homes below.

The benefits of the new process are a much quicker build time with a savings of 20-35%. The home buyer or home builder has a choice of 80 different floor plans, with 9 different elevations, and sizes can range from a two-bedroom home to a five-bedroom home. The home looks just like a custom-built product, and with local craftsmen handling additional rooms and the exterior and interior finishing details, the HybridCore Home becomes a custom product.

Banks like the fact that a HybridCore Home allows for a more stable price, eliminating the normal 20% variance factor due to material pricing changes during longer construction periods.

With the launch of this new system, HybridCore Homes is helping builders to build lean, green, and beautiful homes quickly and less expensively. HybridCore Homes is currently focused on single family homes, but the company plans to develop cores for multi-family units in the future.
