Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Vehicles predicted at 2.8 Million by 2020

Ecobus hydrogen fuel cell bus

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles have always been a concept of the future, but with companies like Honda, General Motors, and Hyundai being now in full support of the alternative fuel movement, the future is finally here. A new report released Tuesday, by Pike research, reveals that by 2014 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles will be widely used in commercial transportation, such as buses and trucks. And by 2020, there will be 2.8 million hydrogen fuel cell powered cars on the road. Pike research predicts that annual sales of hydrogen fuel cell powered cars will be $23.9 billion in 2020. Their research over the last five years has also shown an increase in the interest of hydrogen fueling stations and fuel cell programs in the U.S. government, military, several states and U.S. cities. Yes, hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles will soon step out of the future, and into today. Vroom vroom indeed!
