Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), a manufacturer of performance analysis software for sustainable design, released at this year's Greenbuild new design capabilities for its Architectural VE-Gaia software. The new capabilities of the sustainable design software include sustainable design analysis for energy/carbon, daylighting, solar shading, and renewable energy feasibility.
VE-Gaia, available for both PCs and Macs, is an easy-to-use workflow system which guides users step-by-step through model setup, data assignment, workflow iterations, simulations, filtering of results and production of visual and rich-text reports. The VE-Gaia performance analysis software is ideal for those without expert building simulation knowledge and experience, providing the perfect entry level to key sustainable design and analysis functions. Within VE-Gaia, users can input and manipulate building data, allowing progression from early ballpark comparisons into more detailed calculations. Additionally, the IES’ VE-Gaia performance analysis software has plug-in connectivity to SketchUp, Revit, and ArchiCAD, plus gbXML and DXF import capabilities - allowing for quick model import and iteration at all stages of the green building design process.
