Novothink launches Solar Chargers: Sunbathing for your iPhone
Just when you thought you’d seen every innovation for the iPhone, a new one appears center stage. Novothink has released its long-awaited Solar Surge cases, which power iPhones and iPod Touch devices by exposure to direct sunlight. Apple has certified the device, which gives it significant marketing oomph.
The case provides up to a half hour of talk time from a half hour of sunlight, so those exposed to the great outdoors or living in sunny climates can generate power pretty easily. Novothink provides answers to questions about the Surge, along with a USB cable in case you run into cloudy weather, but that means using a power source other than the sun to recharge.
The Solar Surge products are available in black or white, and retail for $79.95 (iPhone) or $69.95 (iPod Touch). An array of colors will be available soon. You can purchase them through the Novothink website and through Amazon.com.
