New Quebec Wind Farm Project Underway
The site of a new wind farm on the Gaspésie peninsula in Quebec is being cleared in preparation for the installation of an expected 67 wind turbines. According to a July 8th announcement, Toronto based Northland expects to raise C$120 million in debt financing for the Quebec wind farm project by the end of September. The site, near Mont Louis, could see wind farm construction start later this year.
The Quebec wind farm project on the Gaspésie peninsula is just one of many projects won earlier this year by Northland Power in Ontario’s clean-power contract awards announced in April.
General Electric Canada is expected to provide the 1.5sle wind turbines for the new wind farm site, located near Mont Louis, just east of Montane, Quebec. The Gaspésie peninsula is considered one of the most promising sites for renewable wind turbine energy in Quebec, and is already home to two wind farms.
