Recurve Software Automates Energy Efficiency Audits
One of the first steps to improving energy utilization is an energy efficiency audit. A newly-released software application created by Recurve aims to help the business providers conducting those audits for homeowners to automate the process. And its use could save homeowners as much as 30% to 50% on their home energy bills.
The first phase of a suite of energy-efficiency applications runs on a tablet PC and was released April 12. It helps professionals produce a report on the home's efficiency and includes recommendations and work proposal for services such as insulation and air sealing.
Recurve, rebranded from its prior name of Sustainable Spaces, plans further additions to the suite, and has received recognition as one of the fastest growing companies in the San Francisco Bay area.
While larger companies such as utility companies, Microsoft and EnergyCAP, have provided audit analysis software, most are aimed at larger business customers rather than the market of small contractors who provide audits to homeowners. This means Recurve may carve out a unique niche for itself by providing such contractors and homeowners with information and resources. However, the field of energy management is changing so rapidly, it is difficult to know at this point who the winners will be for the long term.
Here's a video demonstrating how the software works:
