Sharp Introduces Solar Car, LED Lights, and LED backlit LCD TVs at Consumer Electronics Show

Sharp displayed quite a few green products at this year's Consumer Electronics Show. Among these was the Tokai Solar Car, equipped with triple junction solar cells, with a super high conversion efficiency of 35.8%. Sharp has also been working on LED bulbs with the equivalent lighting of a 60 Watt bulb. These bulbs will be available in both warmer and cooler whites, and are expected to last between 40,000 to 50,000 hours, or about 20 years. The bulbs are expected to be released this year and will range in price from $50-100. Sharp also introduced their LED-backlit LCD televisions, which use Quad Pixel technology, introducing yellow into the red, green and blue spectrum for more vivid colors. The 52" version uses only about 100 Watts, but the price tag is equally shocking - $3600 for the 52", and $6500 for the 68!"

    Great post, I feel that sharp is at the forefront of today's entertainment TV technology. I work for them and can tell you that their LED TVs have truly unbelievable picture.
