Thorium Could Provide Next Generation Green Nuclear Power
Thorium has the potential to provide great green nuclear power. After it has been used as fuel for power plants, Thorium leaves behind very little waste, which is only stored for a few hundred years, not a few hundred thousand like other nuclear byproducts. It’s plentiful in nature, and therefore virtually inexhaustible. In addition, it’s one of only a few substances that acts as a thermal breeder, creating enough new fuel as it breaks down to sustain a high-temperature chain reaction indefinitely.
