TVLogic Introduces 3D OLED Monitor
They’re big, bright, thin, energy-efficient and currently pretty expensive. Even so, Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) screens are something to behold. This is especially true when it seems like the image you’re watching is about to leap right out of the screen. That is the excitement of 3-D. Tapping into that excitement, TVLogic has introduced the TDM-150W. This is their new 15 inch monitor that combines the best features of OLED technology with the thrill of 3-D.
The TDM-150W is 1,366 x 768 with a razor-sharp 100,000:1 contrast ratio. Its 3D capability makes it the first 3D OLED monitor on the market and it is likely to have a price tag that will reflect its uniqueness. As a comparison, Sony’s recently unveiled 7.4 inch OLED monitor is priced at $3,850. Since TVLogic’s 17 inch LCD monitors are priced at $3,500, the OLED models are likely to be significantly higher.
TVLogic is also offering an OLED monitor without the 3D capability. With or without the ‘in your face’ experience of 3D, the big price tags on the OLED screens tend to define their market – professional. Still, the average person can dream.
