Wastewater Treatment Plant now powered by SunPower Solar Panels

Wastewater treatment plants take up a lot of acreage, so why not use that land for renewable energy? The West Riverside Wastewater Treatment Plant in Corona, California is doing just that. With a 1 megawatt solar power SunPower solar powered system, the treatment plant will be able to generate about 25 percent of its energy needs! That's huge considering the large amount of energy these wastewater treatment plants draw. The Sunpower panels installed at the West Riverside Wastewater Treatment Plant are mounted on the SunPower T20 Tracker system, which needs less land to install but follows the sun to capture up to 30% more light, great for installations involving a smaller acreage.
