YKK AP & Serious Materials Partner on Fenestration Products with Superior Energy Efficiency [Video]
YKK AP combines their expertise with that of Serious Materials to create fenestration products with a superior energy efficiency
YKK AP America and Serious Materials announced, at this year's GreenBuild conference, a partnership that integrates the advanced energy-saving glazing technology of Serious Windows with YKK AP’s enerGfacade line of energy-efficient aluminum fenestration systems. This partnership will produce fenestration solutions that achieve overall system U-factors as low as 0.17 and COG U-factors of 0.06. Video interview below.
The first phase of this partnership will use SeriousGlass to produce higher energy efficiency fenestration solutions for YKK AP Megatherm XT entrances and new YCW 750XT curtain wall. Introduced at this year's Greenbuild, these YKK AP XT fenestration products offer a superior grade of thermal performance for storefront and curtain wall applications. The YCW 750 XT curtain wall system incorporates a dual thermal barrier design engineered to integrate standard one inch insulating glass and advanced glazing technologies including suspended films and triple glazing. YKK AP's upgraded 35XT Medium-Style Megatherm entrance system is now capable of integrating with advanced glazing technology.
